Message from APRG Chair - Dr Richard Clarke
Since the founding of the ASA in 1934, the Society has worked to support research and academic excellence in anaesthesia and pain management through Awards, Prizes and Grants opportunities offered to members. In 2009 the Awards, Prizes and Grants totalled $71,500. Due to difficult economic times support from some areas of the Healthcare Industry has reduced, resulting in a contraction of the Awards, Prizes and Grants budget to $41,500. The ASA is firmly committed to ongoing support in this arena and hopes that as the economic climate improves, the amount offered will be able to be increased.
